Besides the zone and regional offices of many other organisations like Geological Survey of India, Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, Directorate General of Mines Safety, organisation of CSIR and other autonomous bodies like National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre, Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research are also located at Nagpur. The corporate headquarters of Western Coal Fields Ltd. and MOIL Ltd are also located at Nagpur. The academic mining institute like Visveswaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) is also based at Nagpur. All these factors make Nagpur an ideal location for hosting such a mega event.
